How we relate is everything.

To ourselves, to others, and to the work we’re here to do.

Hi, I’m kate

I’m a therapist and coach supporting women and small business owners who feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns of overthinking, communication challenges, or exhausted from carrying too much in their relationships and work.

Here, we slow things down enough to understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface—so you can communicate more clearly, set boundaries without guilt, and move through life and work with more steadiness and ease.

You don’t have to keep holding it all together on your own.

You might recognize yourself in this…

  • You replay conversations in your head long after they happen

  • You struggle to say what you actually need

  • You feel responsible for other people’s emotions

  • You swing between over-explaining and shutting down

  • You feel “too much” and “not enough” at the same time

  • You’re tired—but slowing down feels unfamiliar or unsafe

You don’t need more effort. You need a different way of relating to yourself and others.

This isn’t just anxiety or overthinking.

These patterns often come from:

  • nervous system overwhelm

  • relational conditioning (people-pleasing, over-responsibility, conflict avoidance)

  • difficulty tolerating emotional discomfort

  • a deep internal pressure to stay connected, even at your own expense

Nothing about you is broken.
But the way you’ve learned to stay safe in relationships may no longer be serving you.

in our work together, you begin to…

  • Communicate with more clarity and less reactivity

  • Set boundaries without spiraling into guilt or fear

  • Recognize patterns instead of being run by them

  • Build relationships that feel more honest and sustainable

  • Feel steadier in your body during emotional moments

This isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about coming back into yourself with more support.

A grounded, relational approach

My work integrates:

  • nervous system awareness

  • attachment and relational patterns

  • practical communication and boundary tools

We don’t just talk about what’s happening.
We slow it down enough to understand it—so something new can actually emerge.

what working together looks like:

  • Weekly or biweekly 1:1 sessions (60 mins in length)

  • A steady, relational space to explore patterns as they arise

  • Practical tools woven into deeper emotional understanding

  • A focus on real-life integration and taking action, not just insight

You don’t have to figure anything out before you come in.
We work with it together by trusting in the process.

Services

three ways we can work together

My work supports women and small business owners in navigating stress, relationships, communication, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

There are three ways this support can take shape, depending on your needs.

While the work often overlaps in depth and emotional exploration, the intention and structure are different.

therapy

Therapy is a space for deeper emotional processing and support.

It is often a good fit if you are:

  • navigating anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional distress

  • wanting to understand long-standing relational or attachment patterns and unresolved trauma

  • needing support through life transitions or emotional challenges

  • looking for a consistent space to process your inner world

  • Reside in North Carolina

In therapy, we slow things down and work at the level of emotional experience, nervous system regulation, and relational patterns.

I draw from my training in Hakomi, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Jungian Analysis and Attachment Theory to offer somatic-parts attachment work.

coaching

Coaching is more focused on clarity, direction, and applied change.

It is often a good fit if you are:

  • Wanting support with communication, boundaries, or decision-making; or discovering life purpose and developing your intuition

  • Feeling stuck in patterns but ready to shift them in real time

  • Looking to integrate insight into daily life and relationships

  • Seeking support that is more forward-moving and action-oriented

Coaching still honors emotional depth, but the focus is more on integration, behavior, and relational change in practice.

workwell

WorkWell is support for the relational and emotional dynamics inside small businesses—especially family-run or close-knit teams.

It may be a good fit if your business is experiencing:

  • communication breakdowns or ongoing tension

  • unclear roles, boundaries, or decision-making structures

  • stress or overwhelm impacting leadership or team dynamics

  • conflict that feels hard to address directly or productively

In this work, we focus on the human side of business—how people are relating under pressure, and how that impacts clarity, leadership, and sustainability.

We work to:

  • improve communication and reduce reactive patterns

  • clarify roles and expectations

  • support steadier leadership and decision-making

  • create more functional, sustainable ways of working together

This is coaching-based support for the relational systems inside your business.

A NOTE ON ALL THREE

At the core of all my work is the same foundation:

how we relate—to ourselves, to others, and to the systems we’re part of.

The difference between these offerings is not the depth of the work, but the context in which we apply it.

NOT SURE WHAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU?

That’s completely okay. We can talk through what you’re looking for in a consultation and decide together what kind of support would be most aligned with your needs.

You’ve done enough surviving.

It’s time to relate from security, not fear.

Couples Work

For partners who want to feel secure, not stuck.

I love providing couples therapy for partners who care deeply about one another—but find themselves caught in painful cycles of pursuit, withdrawal, criticism, shutdown, or resentment.

In our work together, we:

  • Identify the negative cycle you’re caught in

  • Understand each partner’s attachment patterns and nervous system responses

  • Learn how to create emotional safety instead of escalating conflict

  • Practice repair, attunement, and secure bonding conversations

  • Build the capacity to stay connected during difficult moments

The goal isn’t perfect communication. It’s creating enough safety that honesty, vulnerability, and repair become possible.

Couples work helps you move from reacting to each other’s defenses… to understanding the fears underneath them.

Eco-Therapy Sessions

This therapy session takes place under the forest canopy of Pisgah National Forest, outside Brevard NC. While walking along the Davidson River, deeply immerse in nature’s beauty, reset your nervous system, awaken your senses and feel the immense benefits of this relaxing setting. Sessions are typically 1 hour, but longer nature intensives are available.

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.

Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want.

Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill, where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.
